Installing the Super Stepper Test Application

Introduction:

This section is for users who have not installed the Super Stepper Test Application or need to reinstall the same.

The Super Stepper Test Application (SSTA) allows the user to communicate with Super Stepper controller modules such as the SS-MST67, SS-ST68, SS-DC268, SS-SC11, SS-IN11, SS-PWR10 and SS-MegaIn.

For the application wo properly work, the user must install DLPortIO, a set of libraries which allow the application to communicate on a 9 bit data format fashion.

If you have not done so yet, please download the SSTA and the DLPORTIO from their respective links.

Installation:

Once the software is installed, it would not harm us to try and see if everything is running propperly:

The Test Application is used thoroughly during the following Super Stepper tutorials. At the date of this section authoring, the SS-Test Application contains the following:

File->Exit Exits the application

Tools->Step Calculator Opens the calculator useful to compute the STEPS parameter on stepper controllers.

Tools->Memory Opens the RAM and EEPROM memory monitor

Communications->COMM Port Selects between COMM1, COMM2, COMM3 and COMM4

Communications->BAUD Rate Selects between 2400, 4800, 9600 and 19200 BAUD rates

Communications->Data Format Selects between 8 bit and 9 bit data communications

Connect Opens the selected COMM Port with the specified parameters (under Communications menu). Toggles between Connect and Disconnect

Boards -> Micro Stepper Opens the Micro Stepping (SS-MST67) test application

Boards -> Stepper Opens the conventional stepper (SS-ST68) test application

Boards -> Dual DC Opens the Dual DC Controller (SS-DC268) test application

Boards -> RC Servo Opens the 11 RC Servo Controller (SS-SC11) test application

Boards -> Power Out Opens the 10 Power Output Controller (SS-PWR10) test application

Boards -> Inputs Opens the 11 Sensory Input Controller (SS-In11) test application
